Oil pulling is an old “folk remedy” stemming from Ayurvedic text. The idea is to swish a tablespoon or two of oil (vegetable, sunflower, coconut, etc) for 15-20 minutes and it is supposed to pull toxins from your body, then you spit it out and rinse your mouth. It is said to cure mouth and gum disease, allergies, asthma, migraines, arthritis, heart, kidney, and lung diseases, increase in energy, weight loss, and so on.
So here is day one of my oil pulling:
I used organic extra virgin coconut oil and swished for 20 mins. It seemed like the longer it went on the grosser it got. I did, however, notice clearer sinuses, and that’s exciting since I really want this to work. I felt like I had a bunch of bacteria and grossness lingering in my mouth so I re-brushed my teeth and used mouth wash.
